Venice
Venice is a city in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The city includes what locals call "Venice Island", a portion of the mainland that is accessed via bridges over the artificially created Intracoastal Waterway. The city is located south of Nokomis and north of Englewood. As of the 2016 census, the city had a population of 22, 465.[6] It is noted for its large snowbird population and was voted as a top 10 Happiest Seaside Towns by Coastal Living.[7]
Venice is a principal city of the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Aptly named one of Coastal Living’s "Best Places to Live on the Coast" in 2020 and “Happiest Seaside Towns in America” in 2015, this island town’s charming main street offers shopping and dining and meanders through stately 1920s homes leading straight to the Gulf of Mexico.
Once a fishing and farming community, this city in the heart of Sarasota County has blossomed into a vacation destination, where families play in the surf, hunt for prehistoric shark teeth, shop through downtown, bike around the Venetian Waterway Trail and "catch the big one" at the Venice Pier.
